Every month we're going to have a little piece looking into the world of body piercings and our on little parlour, giving you new information, some new ideas and how to safely enjoy modifiying yourself! Christmas Fundraiser!

We're getting into the holiday spirit at The Crybabies Parlour and decided we wanted to give a little back to our wonderful customers as well as our community. We will be holding a small fundraising game at our parlour for a charity (yet to be decided on, if you'd like to suggest please feel free to email us using the contact information!). With a prize for a winner and runner up, it's worth getting down to us and joining the fun! More information will be up in the week and on our facebook page so keep up to date to find out whats in store!

Update: We will be starting our fundraiser THIS WEEK! This will only happen in store so make sure to get yourselves down and take part in our 'Guess How Many' game for a chance to grab some goodies and all for a good cause, Children In Need! This contest will run until the 31st January and the winner will be informed by the end of the year, so not long to get cracking!

PIERCING OF THE WEEK IS...

Instead of our usual PotW offer, we're bringing to tha table something new! Until the end of January 2013, we're offering £5 off all Surface Anchors and Single Point Piercings, more commonly known as dermals and skin divers!

These are a fairly new piercing amongst the usual suspects due the 'single point' nature. Instead of a needle going into one side and out the other, these piercings are inserted into the surface of the skin . The method is simple, a small hole is made in the skin using specialised piercing equipment, making room for a small 'foot' to go under the surface of the skin. A small 'post' sticks out from the foot and out of the skin, looking like a tiny stand in the chosen area. This stand is internally threaded so you can then attach a plain ball, a sparkly stud or even just a plain enlongated post. The benefits of this as opposed to a bar going straight through in the traditional sense, is that it can be placed almost anywhere on the body and has only one point of entry where the disk top will sit.

Here's an example of how they look out the skin and in it.

It's a very quick proceedure and not only takes a fairly quick time to heal but the rate of rejection and migration is extrmeely low, meaning your piercing will last much longer than a standard surface piercing with a bar.
